During the autumn of 2023, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team at The Polytechnic University of Valencia on a project aimed at enhancing Turia Park. As the sole UX designer on the team, I ensured that user experience considerations were thoroughly integrated into the project. My responsibilities included research, customer journey map, poster design and the creation of a digital information board.
To plan, research and design a range of new facilities to accommodate for occupants of Turia park who experience mobility-based disabilities, creating a more inviting environment and atmosphere to in turn allow for all users to benefit from all the park’s facilities and spaces.
During this project I took on multiple responsibilities, such as hosting presentation about the group’s research. I participated in conducting the research, and subsequently used the insights to create user personas. Throughout the project I made several visuals such as powerpoint presentations and our final concept poster. Lastly, I designed a figma prototype of the digital information board, which was the first part of our final concept.
The information board was created to inform the users about the social area in an easy and accessible way. It's accessed by scanning the QR code on the information pole, which is located at the top of the access point and around the social area itself. By scanning the user will be welcomed by a onepager screen where the content is shown by scrolling. There are also three round buttons on the start page that function as shortcuts to the sub headers. Regarding accessibility, the digital info board works in both English and Spanish. The text can also be read out loud if reading is an issue. The buttons have a bigger tap-area than it visibly looks like so that unsteady hands or bigger fingers will be able to use it.
