Overview

My personal wardrobe turned into digital boutique

This project was a school assignment from my first year of university: to create a fully designed webshop concept from scratch. I chose to build a fictional store based on my own wardrobe, translating my clothes, style, and personality into a playful online shopping experience. It became a reflection of personal taste, visual experimentation, and a love letter to the summer I saw Tyler, The Creator live.

The concept was heavily inspired by Call Me If You Get Lost and Tyler’s Golf le Fleur aesthetic—elegant, eccentric, and curated with intentional clashing. I wanted the webshop to feel like a digital suitcase packed by someone with taste, a sense of humor, and a flair for bold choices.

My approach

Early Experimentation with Style & Systems

At this stage in my design journey, I was exploring how to build systems while still letting creativity lead. This was also one of my first attempts at responsive design and creating a cohesive visual identity across multiple page types.

I used:

  • Adobe XD to wireframe and build out all key pages

  • Custom illustrations and moodboards inspired by Tyler’s visual world

  • Typography and layout inspired by magazine-style editorial spreads

Results

Intro to me as a designer

As this was just a small project early on the results didn't include much more than:

  • Identity-driven design: This was my first taste of how deeply design can be personal and how personality can still be structured into a working system.

  • Creative confidence: The project helped me realise that I could blend taste, music, and visual storytelling into UX/UI work.

  • Foundation for growth: While it’s no longer something I’d ship as-is, this project still marks an important milestone in finding my creative voice.

  • Little tease about me: It made my classmates get to know me a little bit more.
